Katie is a Company Director at Aether and has been involved in the compilation of emissions estimates for 15 years, focused in particular at the local level through spatial mapping of emissions. Katie is Knowledge Leader for Local Authority carbon emission data as part of the UK NAEI programme, overseeing the production of the LA level CO2 dataset for DECC each year. Katie has much experience in data evaluation for emissions estimates, advising on and reviewing the work of the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory emissions mapping team covering many sectors.

Alison Horton

Alison qualified as an architect in 1999. She has worked for a number of Jersey practices until starting her own practice in 2019. Alison is passionate about beautiful sustainable design, working with clients collaboratively, creating contemporary bespoke architecture with an emphasis on natural materials, natural light and connection to external spaces and nature. Alison is also studying to become a Conservation Architect. She is the current President of The Association of Jersey Architects, with sustainability, working towards producing Zero Carbon new buildings and improving the emissions of our existing building stock, being the focus for her presidential term.

Dr Louise Magris

Government of Jersey
Louise comes from a science and biodiversity background having a first and higher degree in ecology and an early career that focussed on mammal research and conservation in Jersey. In 2005 Louise moved into policy for the Government of Jersey authoring the ‘State of Jersey’ report, the first baseline report on Jersey’s environment. She led the team that developed and delivered Pathway 2050 - Jersey’s first Energy Strategy agreed by the States Assembly in 2014. She currently leads the Sustainability and Foresight Team from within the Strategy and Innovation Directorate in the Strategic Policy, Performance and Population Department. Her portfolio comprises a number of cross cutting areas including strategic long term planning, foresight, energy and climate change strategy, transport policy and environmental economic levers. She also works in other areas of policy and delivery including work around the Government Plan and managing the Climate Emergency Fund, a multi- million pound fund established by the States Assembly in 2019 to begin to resource the policy and initiatives necessary to respond to the declaration of a climate emergency and an ambitious carbon emissions reduction agenda.

David has been the CEO of Islands Energy Group (which in addition to Jersey Gas includes Guernsey Gas and Manx Gas) since July 2020. Previous to that he has held CEO positions in a number of utility and energy businesses. Both in traditional infrastructure and latterly running the UK’s biggest biogas energy business, generating green electricity from waste food. Initially from an operational finance background David has been involved in a variety of industries both UK and internationally based. He has a track record of implementing innovative and successful strategies

Chris Ambler

Jersey Electricity (JE)
Chris joined Jersey Electricity (JE) as Chief Executive 12 years ago. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and holds a first-class Honours Degree from Queens’ College, Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD. Before joining JE, Chris held various senior positions with Centrica/British Gas, the BOC Group and ICI/Zeneca. Since Chris has held the position of JE’s CEO, the Company has invested significantly in new undersea cables to France, upgraded the Island’s electricity grid, invested in an Island-wide smart meter programme and new solar generating assets and has substantially decarbonised the electricity system. Chris was a member of the Jersey Energy Trust for six years, overseeing Energy Efficiency Service, which JE co-funded with the Government, and is a member of the Jersey Energy Forum.

Nigel is Managing Director of 4Group, the Channel Islands largest plant and tool rental provider. He has over 30 years of experience of building and developing businesses using innovative ideas and equipment. By committing 4Group to becoming carbon balanced by the end of 2022, he set a very high bar with the intention of proving that businesses can be both sustainable and profitable. By using the 4theplanet programme, 4Group talks openly and honestly about the struggles, triumphs and failures during this journey as a way of de-mystifying the subject, particularly for small and medium sized businesses.

Matthew is a Principal at Oxera Consulting LLP and works across a wide range of sectors. He has advised the Government of Jersey on many policy issues for over 10 years, including on transport, energy, social care and economic forecasting matters. Matthew leads Oxera’s practice area on the economics of climate change, working with a range of clients to understand the opportunities and risks that policies and regulations enacted to address climate change pose for them.

Founder and CEO of KIT consulting, Dr. Emiko (Em) Caerlewy-Smith has 20 years of financial services experience. She has held senior roles with top-tier organisations such as PwC, Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays Bank Plc. Latterly COO, Channel Islands for Barclays, Em has worked across a range of industry sectors including academia, regulation, consultancy and in-house. Em has a track record of leading scale business units while simultaneously delivering complex programmes of strategic change and transformation. Her longstanding interest in sustainability stretches back to her first class BA (Hons) degree in Environmental Management. Em was also a lecturer for BA Geography and MSc Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) degrees at the University of Oxford, where she published research on responsible investment as part of her D.Phil (PhD) in Behavioural Economics and Investment Decision Making. Em is currently lead capital markets advisor to HRH The Prince of Wales’ Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S). Em specialises in financial services strategy creation and implementation, TOM design, operational effectiveness, new product development, CSR / ESG training and technical ESG integration.

Amy is a strategic change and financial services project management expert with 15 years’ experience. Amy is an industry expert in sustainability, environmental protection, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and, in particular, the circular economy. Latterly working on a range of strategic transformation projects with Barclays Bank Plc, Credit Suisse and Investec, Amy is now focused on leading client engagements for KIT Sustainability including: Building CSR implementation programmes for financial services companies ESG integration training for financial services regulators Sustainable finance research reports for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Amy is a systems thinker with an MBA from Warwick Business School (Distinction, top 10%), MSc in Climate Change and Risk Management (Distinction), and BSc in Environmental Chemistry. She has recently completed a professional course in Business Sustainability Management at the prestigious Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Amy is studying for both the CFA certificate in ESG Investing and the CISL professional course in Sustainable Finance.
